First up, the wood buttons I ordered have arrived! They are super adorable and will be a great addition to my online shop (whenever I get the time to organize inventory and open it up!) Remember the pattern I was designing last week? Well, it did not pan out, so I'm frogging it and starting over again. Ugh! Another project I am working on is some Icelandic sheep dying experiments in partnership with the Rainbows End Farm. They have graciously sent me several samples of different icelandic sheep fleece to play with. Stay tuned to this website (and my many social media accounts) for updates! Of course, I didn't slack off completely this week. I manage to spin quite a bit of a merino/finn cross fleece I acquired back in September.
I have a pretty bad wheat allergy. Unfortunately, this sheep loved rolling in wheat or some sort of grass that is related to wheat. My hands and feet started blistering after I started spinning. I had to soak the fiber in vinegar then boil the fleece before I could safely touch it again. Yeesh! Cindy was NOT having a good week. At least 2017 started on a good note. I spun some faulkland roving my best friend sent me in a fibery care package. It was the first time I spun faulkland and I am completely in love with it! All in all, this week could have been better, but I am super grateful that I came out of it all right in the end. Here's to 2017.
